At Mainely Standards, we focus on providing guidance and education to help you care for your poodle’s grooming needs. 2. Can I bring my pup back for a stay at Mainely Standards?

While we do not offer boarding services, some of our pups do come back to stay and visit with us for a short while. Whether it’s a familiar environment while you’re away or just a chance for your pup to reconnect, we’re happy to accommodate these special visits when possible. As breeders who care deeply about our dogs, we love staying connected and seeing how they’ve grown with their families.

3. Can I meet other Mainely Standards owners?

We love fostering connections within the Mainely Standards family! While we don’t host regular meet-and-greets, we’re happy to help facilitate introductions between owners when possible. Sharing experiences, tips, and stories with others who own one of our pups can be incredibly rewarding. Let us know if you’re interested, and we’ll do our best to connect you with like-minded owners who are just as passionate about their poodles.

4. What is the process for reserving a puppy?

Reserving a puppy from Mainely Standards begins with filling out our form. This allows us to learn more about your family, lifestyle, and preferences so we can thoughtfully match you with the perfect puppy. Our priority is ensuring that every puppy is placed in a loving, compatible home where they can thrive. We’re deeply committed to the well-being of our dogs and the Standard Poodle breed, and our focus is on quality, care, and the lifelong happiness of each puppy—not profit. Once we receive your form, we will personally reach out to guide you through the next steps.

5. What comes with my new puppy?

When you bring home a puppy from Mainely Standards, you’ll receive several items designed to help make the transition to their new home as smooth as possible. These may include vaccination and health records, information about your puppy’s routine, food to help with dietary transitions, one of your puppy’s favorite toys, and a color-coded bandana that carries familiar scents from their mother and littermates.

The bandana often provides comfort during those first few days in a new environment, helping your puppy adjust to the many changes that come with joining their forever family.

Our goal is to provide both you and your puppy with a strong start and make the transition as stress-free as possible.

6. Do you provide training resources or guidance?

Yes, we do! At Mainely Standards, we’re proud to offer formal training services tailored for both puppies and their new families. Every puppy comes with a foundation of basic training to ensure they are well-prepared for their new home. From crate training and potty training to mastering essential commands like “sit” and “stay,” we set your pup up for success.
In addition to puppy training, we also work closely with you to provide personalized guidance. Our goal is to help you build a strong bond with your dog, learn effective techniques, and feel confident handling training challenges. Whether it’s ongoing support or addressing specific needs, we’re here to help both you and your puppy thrive.

7. Can I visit Mainely Standards?

Yes, we encourage visits! We believe it’s important for families to see where and how our pack lives. During your visit, you’ll have the chance to meet the puppy’s parents, explore their living and grooming spaces, and, of course, spend time playing with the puppies. For the health and safety of the puppies, visits are allowed once they are old enough to handle interactions without any health risks.
We love welcoming potential owners to Mainely Standards and sharing the care and love we put into raising our dogs.

8. What support do you provide after we take our puppy home?

At Mainely Standards, we believe our responsibility doesn’t end when a puppy leaves for their forever home.

Whether you have a simple question, need help with training, are working through a behavioral challenge, or just want reassurance that you’re on the right track, we’re here to help. Sometimes that support is a quick text message. Sometimes it’s a phone call. Sometimes it’s a longer conversation about a problem that needs time and patience to work through.

Dogs, like people, don’t always follow the plan. There may be challenges along the way. We can’t guarantee every problem has an easy solution, but we can promise that you won’t be facing those challenges alone.

If life circumstances change, if a training issue develops, or if you ever find yourself in a situation where you’re considering rehoming your dog, we want to be part of that conversation. Many problems can be resolved with guidance, training, and support. When they can’t, we’ll still help you explore the best path forward for both you and your dog.

We believe every dog deserves the right home. That commitment doesn’t end on pickup day. We are invested in the success of our puppies and the families who welcome them into their lives, and we’re committed to being part of that journey for years to come.
